Chapter 21

Returning to Cambia House, Casey knew she needed blood. It had been a rough few days, and she’d used a lot of her magic. After pushing herself so hard, she needed to sleep and build back her reserves. She’d been dropped off so others could watch over the healing vampires and start the interviews.

Heading up the stairs, she stopped at a door across the hall from her room. She knocked, hoping there would be an answer. She didn’t want to be alone. She waited. After a minute, she dropped her arm. She fisted her hands then tapped her fist on her leg. She was about to give up and go to her room when the door finally opened.

Riley stood there with her black hair spiked out in all directions, black eyes devouring Casey, and a black tank top on, barely concealing anything. With a smirk, her eyes narrowed. “How much time do we have?”

Casey smiled back. “I have a meeting after breakfast tomorrow morning.”

Stepping back, Riley let her into her room. “You look awful, by the way. Should we call someone in for a quick feed before we start? Will I be enough?”

A small smile played over Casey’s mouth as she navigated over the mounds of black clothes. She sat on the edge of the bed. “You’ll be enough.”

“Good,” Riley said. “Then lie back and let’s begin.”

Casey’s eyebrow rose. “Anyone tell you you’re very bossy?”

Slinking over in just a back tank top and skimpy black panties, a line of skin showing, Riley smiled. “You’re in my room. My rules. Now, it seems to me, you’re wearing too much. Take off the extra clothes.”

Cocking her head to the side, Casey watched Riley approach. Bantering with this vixen was always a balm to her soul. “Which clothes, exactly, are the extra ones? I mean, are some allowed?”

Riley stopped half-way to the bed atop a mountain of clothes, queen of her domain. Hands on her hips, Riley considered her. “That all depends on what you have on under that.” She waved her hand up and down. “I can’t judge you on what I don’t know, now can I?”

Casey leaned back on her hands and narrowed her eyes. “So, what you’re saying is you want to know what’s under my t-shirt and shorts?”

Shrugging, Riley’s eyebrows mirrored the movement. “That would be a start.”

Casey kicked off her shoes, then, sitting back up, stripped off her shirt. Knowing what the plans were for the day, she’d thrown on a shirt without a bra. Riley’s smile at seeing Casey half naked was worth the reveal. Biting her lower lip, she started to unbutton and slip off her shorts, but Riley shook her head.

Moving to Casey, she placed her hands on Casey’s shoulders and leaned down to whisper in her ear, “Time to lie down, lovely.”

With a chill running through her, she rotated and stretched out on Riley’s bed. Riley climbed up, straddling Casey’s hips. She bent and kissed her, bringing Casey to the here and now, letting her release all the hell of the past week.
